House for Phineas
San Francisco, California

The renovation of this second floor flat created a bright, sunny kitchen from a series of three smaller, dark rooms. New french doors that lead onto a shallow metal balcony open up the center of the house to the ample southern exposure above the roofs of neighboring buildings. Simple detailing, timeless materials and the use of bold colored tiles characterize the new interiors.
