House on a Hilltop
Santa Clara County, California

This project updates the 1920s house of a couple with adult children. A new library provides filtered sunlight into the end of the existing dark living room. A new luxurious master suite expands the original cramped bedroom wing. All new additions tie together the house’s disparate elements with a consistent use of windows and doors and a coherent vocabulary of crisp white traditional trim, painted white walls, cherry cabinets and flooring.
