Wat Khmer Kampuchea Krom

This traditional Khmer Buddhist temple, set on a corner lot in a San Jose residential neighborhood, is intended as a hub for community life and Khmer culture. It is comprised of two main structures – a sanctuary and a community building. The former sits at the ceremonial center of the site, and is articulated with iconographic decorative elements designed and fabricated by craftsman in Cambodia. The latter is horseshoe-shaped, enclosing the main public courtyard, and contains educational and social spaces, plus a residence for monks. The buildings are set in a lush landscape of gardens and courtyards.
